Airport Safety and Security Conference to be organised by Fleming Gulf During the Dubai Airshow 2015
Dubai Airshow has announced the addition of another aspect of the event when it returns from 8-12 November at Dubai South. The Airport Safety and Security Conference, organised by Fleming Gulf, will take place on the 8th and 9th of November within the Dubai Airshow. The conference aims to bring together the key experts to discuss important security aspects of the airport industry while looking at how big data and integration markets are driving upgrades and new investments in the airport security market.
Dubai Airport has recently announced growth projections of 126 million passengers by 2020. With the exponential increase in passenger traffic at airports in the MENA region, aviation operators are now keen on developing a strategy that covers not only their aviation activities, but their systems, commercial information, intellectual property and people.
Topics such as 'Airport and Aircraft Communication Security', 'Airport Screening Technologies and Airport Security', 'Cargo Security: A Threat to the Region and Air Carriers', and many more will be presented and discussed by leading industry specialists.
Speakers at the two day event will include Laila Al Muhairi, Executive Director Strategy and International Affairs of the General Civil Aviation Authority and Mohammad Al Dossari, Director Air Navigation & Aerodromes Department, UAE General Civil Aviation, in addition representatives from Dubai Police and IATA. The speakers will showcase the most advanced technologies and the best use of available resources to support the continuous development of security standards in the MENA airports.
Conference attendees will include senior officials in airport operations, aviation security plus those in supporting industries such as IT, cargo and emergency services.
Michele van Akelijen, Managing Director of Dubai Airshow organisers F&E Aerospace, said, “We are pleased to be launching the Airport Safety and Security Conference at the Dubai Airshow this year.” She continued “The Dubai Airshow has always been the place for aerospace professionals to meet and do business, and the addition of this conference is a natural step to integrating another facet of the industry.”
Ranjith Paul, Managing Director of conference organiser Fleming Gulf, agrees, “Passenger numbers in the region continue to soar, which presents an increase in security challenges for airports. At the same time, there is a vast business opportunity for international suppliers in the region as aviation personnel look at setting up the most innovative and advanced global security technologies at their facilities.”
He continues, “We are launching the Airport Safety and Security Conference in response to these challenges and opportunities, and there is no better place to reach the right people than at the Dubai Airshow.”
