New partnership with O2K adds another element to Dubai Airshow 2015

As the Dubai Airshow 2015 draws closer, event organisers F&E Aerospace have yet again increased the show offering with the addition of the Offsets Conference. Taking place on day two of the show, 9 November, the conference is entitled “Utilising Offset Investment to Develop Space and Aviation Technologies and Local Supply Chain Capability” and is organised by offset experts O2K in partnership with the Dubai Airshow.

The Offset Conference will address the utilisation of industrial cooperation, or “offset” investment to further develop aviation technology, supply chain capability and the UAE’s space industry. With offset agreements often forming an integral part of many aerospace and military contracts, the conference will add tangible value to many of the attendees of the largest aerospace event in the Middle East.

The aerospace industry in the UAE is burgeoning at the moment, in Boeing’s Current Market Outlook 2013-2032 they predict the industry to grow by up to 3.8% in the following 20 years, while Oxford Economics predicted that the economic impact of the aviation industry will be over $88 billion by 2030. Many of the exhibitors at the Dubai Airshow are keen to develop strategies to maximize the opportunities provided by this growth, and offset investment is an important tool for many contracts.

“We look forward to the opportunity to engage key stakeholders in government, defence and cutting-edge aviation technology sectors to discuss creative avenues for developing excellent and sustainable offset programs in the UAE and region,”, said Kim Childs, Managing Partner, O2K Limited.

“One of the main attractions for exhibitors and visitors of the Dubai Airshow is that fact that it represents such a variety of sectors of the aerospace industry,” says Michele van Akelijen, Managing Director of Dubai Airshow organisers F&E Aerospace. She continues, “For 2015 we are adding a number of relevant conferences that add tangible value to the attendees experience, and we are pleased to partner with O2K to add the Offsets Conference to the show.”

Organised under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the Dubai Airshow is held in co-operation with the UAE Armed Forces, Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Dubai Airports. The show takes place 8-12 November at DWC, Dubai Airshow Site.
