The Return of Future’s Day Aims to Inspire Aerospace Professionals of the Future.
Over 3000 students from UAE Universities will attend Futures Day at the Dubai Airshow on the final day of the event, 12 November 2015. Futures Day, sponsored by industry leaders Airbus and Boeing, will be one of the highlights of the show when it opens its doors to the younger generation.
Designed to encourage young people to consider an exciting career in the region's aerospace industry with a day of seminars, talks and interactive sessions, Futures Day gives local students the chance to experience career opportunities first-hand and to understand the diversity of the aerospace industry.
The attending students will hear from speakers ranging from Dr Mohd Al Hababi, Director General of the UAE Space Agency, Phil Marques, Head of DXB Approach of Dubai Air Navigation Services, Badr Al Olama, CEO of STRATA in addition to representatives from Boeing, Airbus and XJet.
Universities from across the UAE will be attending, including the American University of Dubai, Abu Dhabi University, Emirates Aviation College and Heriott Watt University, plus several others.
Michele van Akelijen, Managing Director of show organisers F&E Aerospace, says, “It’s an exciting time for the industry in the region; when more and more leading players are setting up operations here; and according to Boeing’s Current Market Outlook, the Middle East will need 55,000 new pilots and 62,000 new skilled maintenance personnel to staff the region’s airlines between now and 2033.”
She continues, “The Dubai Airshow has always been at the forefront of the industry, and Future’s Day is focused on the recruitment, education and training of home grown talent in the UAE. We hope that the attending students will benefit not only from our speaker program but also from the opportunity to visit the Dubai Airshow itself.”
