Executive Vice President, Economic Policies & Logistics
Awad A. Alsulami has been serving as the Executive Vice President of Economic Policies and Logistics Services at the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) since March 2023. Mr. Alsulami joined the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) in June 2021 as an advisor to the President and later served as Vice President of Logistics and Special Economic Zones.
Since joining the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), Mr. Alsulami has rendered strategic advisory services to the President of GACA and lead the activation of the Riyadh Integrated Special Logistics Zone, the first special economic zone of its kind in Saudi Arabia. In his current role, Mr. Alsulami is leading the restructure of the economical spectrum of the aviation sector in the Kingdom through the implementation of regulatory reforms and efficient oversight to enable the development of a competitive aviation ecosystem that fosters an environment that is conductive to attracting and sustaining investments in the Kingdom’s aviation sector.
Prior to working for General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), Mr. Alsulami served as Head of the Aviation Sector at the Ministry of Investment, significantly contributing to the design and launch of strategic engagements to generate quality investment opportunities for the Kingdom as part of the Saudi Vision 2030 goals. Mr. Alsulami has also worked as Executive Director for Commercial & Business Development and Head of Network & Revenue Management for the carrier Saudia Cargo from 2015 to 2019, and as Cargo Manager for Qatar Airways from 2014 to 2015.
Mr. Alsulami holds a B.Sc. in Economics & Business Administration from King Abdul Aziz University, as well as qualifications in Supply Chain Management from Stanford Graduate School of Business, and Strategic Management from Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
