Main Stage - GATM
Global Air Traffic Management is back again!
Last year we welcomed 250+ attendees from 35 countries to discuss best practices on how to make the aviation world not just safe, but more connected.
GATM will once again reunite international ANSPs and CAAs to discuss shared challenges, solutions, and contingencies for this new era.
09:55 - 10:00Opening Remarks By Chairperson
10:00 - 10:10Opening Keynote
10:10 - 10:40Keynote Panel: Harmoniously welcoming the Qatar FIFA World Cup spectators to the skies
With an increase of international spectators, the FIFA World Cup will have a significant impact on surrounding air traffic with guests connecting flights or extending their trips in neighboring countries. This session will explore how the ATM community can collaboratively create an action plan to manage ATFM changes, increase in military drones and airspace restrictions.
10:40 - 11:00Case Study: Augmenting reality with digital towers
The pandemic has highlighted the urgent need for remote services. Digital ATC towers offer a unique opportunity to support contingency operations as they can run at normal full capacity, despite location. This case study will also identify how you can harness digital air traffic management data to enable automation and support operations to help controllers make better decisions.
11:00 - 11:40Panel: Reforming training regulations for the new world
ATC training has been impacted massively due to the pandemic, ATCOs are struggling to receive the required number of flying hours to qualify due to air traffic fluctuations. It is imperative that safety comes first and ATCOs can deal with high volumes of air traffic as demand increases. To do this, regulations need to be adapted to allow digital training enablers such as remote services and simulators to support training.
11:40 - 12:00Presentation: Fusing human experience with new technology to ease ATCO pressure
Many ANSPs optimized the downtime to trial and test more efficient operational procedures to facilitate and improve exchanges between ATM stakeholders. This presentation will highlight some of the disruptive technology automating our skies and how to create a harmonized human vs tech environment.
12:00 - 12:40Panel: Optimising routes to build back better: flexible airspace, airspace design, point to point travel & operations assessment
The volume of connecting passengers has been the hardest hit from the pandemic. The future of the hub model is now the subject of debate, ANSPs are analyzing if ATFM changes are required to mirror new passenger behavior.
12:40 - 13:00Panel: Monetizing air traffic control: reassessing business continuity measures to get out of the red
Agility is key to survival, ANSPs must adjust their business strategies to the new and constantly evolving airspace. Billing, collection, and revenue management challenges posed by COVID-19 will drive long-lasting changes in the way airlines, airports and ANSPs operate. Budget cuts could potentially have real consequences for capacity and delivery of long-term plans.
This session will knuckle down to establish strategic model updates transforming organizations for survival.
13:00 - 13:30Presentation: Creating a unified airspace with UTM
The recent Dubai Drone laws open a world of opportunities for UAV manufactures, UTM providers and end users. This session will assess if the nation is ready to welcome the drone decade, and what supporting infrastructure is required to create a seamless sky.
13:30 - 13:55Panel: Disruption and crisis management - managing unpredictable risk
Effectively identifying potential crises is essential to ensure service continuity. The entire aviation ecosystem needs to be fully prepared to respond in a coordinated, collaborative manner to avoid detrimental results. It’s now more critical than ever to have solid contingencies. This session will discuss how the industry can better prepare for economic unrest, security breaches, cyber threats, and future pandemics to avoid ATC-ZERO.

TUE 16 NOVEMBER
Main Stage - Cargo Connect Day 1
2020 – 2021: The year of air cargo!
With increasing cargo demand, safety and speed concerns are getting louder and companies around the world are discovering new technologies to ease capacity fluctuations.
This coming November, leading experts will gather once again, this time for a two-day conference to explore the way forward in the air cargo industry.
09:55 - 10:00Registration and Networking
10:00 - 10:30Opening remarks by Chairperson
10:30 - 11:10Keynote Presentation
11:10 - 11:50Keynote panel: Boosting and protecting the global economy with air cargo
The value of efficient, fast, and safe cargo has been at the forefront of minds during the pandemic. This high-level keynote discussion will reveal the true challenges faced while maintaining efficient operations and the worldwide cargo opportunities that have been uncovered.
11:50 - 12:20Panel: Adapt, react, and overcome cargo fluctuations with accurate forecasting
PPE demand skyrocketed during the pandemic, cargo operators were under pressure to ensure critical supplies were fast tracked to reach those in need. This discussion will showcase, the complications faced and how data analytics can help ease last minute changes to support contingency planning.
12:20 - 12:40Presentation: Where’s my package? Exploring the tracking transformation and the technological disruptors enhancing transparency: blockchain, AI and Automation.
With year on year ecommerce increase, customers delivery expectations are also on the rise. This session will identify new methods of shipment tracking to enhance transparency support security and increase efficiency. Can we reach the global 72-hour delivery goal?
12:40 - 13:20Case Study: The Middle East’s distribution hub: exploring how the UAE conquered time sensitive vaccine challenges
Distributing and connecting the world with high-value, time, and temperature-sensitive cargo comes with a vast variety of roadblocks. Timely regulatory approvals, landing & overflight permits, storage and clearance by customs must be completed quickly to ensure these critical shipments arrive to their final destination.
13:20 - 13:40Presentation: Reducing costs of legacy systems and infrastructure application
With all the new technology available in the market, cargo operators must reassess legacy systems requirements to support implementation. How will these upgrades impact revenue, what is the ROI and detrimental repercussions if we don’t upgrade?
13:40 - 14:00Interview: Increasing multimodal collaboration
Exclusive interview between air, sea, rail stakeholders to understand how we can streamline the fragmented logistics chain with interconnectivity.
