The next 10 years may well be the decade of the unmanned aerial system (UAS) as this segment of the aerospace industry grows at an exponential rate. Recent reports show the three sub sectors – recreational, commercial/civil and military – are all growing albeit at different paces. Consensus is that the greatest growth and opportunity is in the commercial/civil application of unmanned aerospace technology.

 

It is estimated the global commercial UAV market will be USD$43 billion by 2024 and growing by 20.5% CAGR. Similar reports show the military market share to be larger but growing at a slower rate of 12%.
