Elmar Lutter is currently serving as a Senior Vice President Maintenance at Qatar Airways, overseeing all line, light, and heavy maintenance activities for a fleet of some 280 aircraft. For the past 16 years, Elmar had CEO roles at Lufthansa Technik Budapest, Lufthansa Technik Puerto Rico, and, most recently, Lufthansa Technik Philippines. He studied electrical and electronics engineering at Technical University in Hamburg, Germany, and later added a Master of Business Administration from Danube University of Krems, Austria. Most recently, Elmar completed his Doctorate of Business Administration at Paris School of Business, France. Apart from leading the business to success in a very competitive field, Elmar has always been interested in the human side of it and consequently published a book in 2023, titled "Error Traps: How High-Performing Teams Learn to Avoid Mistakes in Aircraft Maintenance".
