Since joining The Ministry in October 2022, Khalid Sharaf has assumed multiple roles and is currently Director of the UAE Government Leaders Programme. Khalid is responsible for leading leadership programmes for UAE nationals to support the development and funnelling of talent within the country. Khalid is also overseeing talent development within the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs. Khalid also is responsible for high-level engagements with in the World Governments Summit that takes place annually in Dubai. Prior to that, Khalid has assumed multiple roles at Expo 2020 Dubai and concluded as Director of the Expo Business Programme. Khalid was responsible for leading and developing business programmes and platforms to support participating countries at Expo 2020 in their business plans, which includes business matchmaking, sector-specific forums and facilitating partnerships. Khalid was also responsible for B2B outreach to communicate the business value proposition of Expo 2020 Dubai to the global business community. These programmes and platforms help to facilitate businesses’ integration into the Expo 2020 supply chain and also drive global business connectivity and long-term growth, as part of Expo 2020’s legacy plans. Before Expo 2020, Khalid was a Senior Project Engineer at Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) from 2011 to 2014. Khalid has an Executive MBA from Georgetown University in Washington DC, a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston and a Higher Diploma in Mechatronics Engineering from Higher Colleges of Technology in Dubai.
