Robert Wall is Executive Editor for Defense and Space. Based in London, he directs a team of military and space journalists across the U.S., Europe and Asia-Pacific. 

Wall initially worked at Aviation Week from 1994-2012. He then reported on Europe’s defense industry for Bloomberg News before moving to the Wall Street Journal from 2014-2023, first as a defense and aerospace reporter and later as Tech News Editor, based in Silicon Valley. In 2023 he became editor of The Military Balance at the London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies think tank before returning to Aviation Week. He  holds a Master of Arts in International Affairs from George Washington University in Washington.
