Ahmed Alghofaili is an electrical engineer with expertise in electronics, photonics, and optics, specializing in portfolio management, new establishment, and strategy within the space and defense sectors. Currently, he serves as the Deputy CEO at the Saudi Space Agency, where he plays a crucial role in defining key performance indicators, developing hiring plans, and ensuring the successful execution of strategic projects in the space exploration and applications domain.

Previously, Ahmed served as the General Supervisor of the Kingdom's Human Space Flight first mission, where he led  the activities related to astronauts’ selection, training, and the planning of scientific experiments. His diverse experience includes various roles at the General Authority for Military Industries, notably as Director of Research Capabilities and Planning, where he conducted technology planning and capabilities identification. Additionally, Ahmed has a strong background in portfolio management, enhancing his ability to align projects with organizational goals and optimize resource allocation.

He has a Master’s degree in Optical NanoTechnology Engineering from the University of Kassel and a Bachelor’s in Electrical & Computer Engineering from Florida International University.”
