Sustainable Aero Lab

Lukas Kaestner is the Chief Development Officer of the ZAL Center for Applied Aeronautical Research in Hamburg, one of the world’s most renowned innovation centers for commercial aviation. In addition, Lukas is co-founder and CCO of the Sustainable Aero Lab, the world’s largest program dedicated to accelerating startups in sustainable aviation. Since its inception in early 2021, the Lab has coached more than 60 sustainable aviation companies from all over the globe. It also serves as a Think Tank to discuss and promote the industry's transformation and is co-funded by Breakthrough Energy. 

Lukas has been an aviation enthusiast since childhood and has been involved in the industry for many years. Among other roles, he has chaired the Crystal Cabin Award Association, the world’s most recognized award for aircraft interiors and passenger experience, and served as Head of Marketing, PR & Events at the Hamburg Aviation Cluster.
