The aerospace industry is warming up to blockchain as a means to manage distributed ledgers. The 2019 SITA IT Insights Survey showed 10% of airlines had a major blockchain project underway and another 59% were developing one, whilst 36% of airports were planning R&D projects in the technology by 2021. According to industry reports, blockchain will grow by 41.6% CARG to be worth USD$8.134 billion in 2025.
