Andreas Hardeman leads the World Economic Forum’s Aviation & Aerospace industries, where he manages CEO and C-suite communities as part of the Forum’s Global Industries Team. He joined the Forum in 2022, bringing over two decades of leadership experience in the air transportation and aerospace sectors. Throughout his career, Andreas has played a pivotal role in shaping the future of global air transport. As Managing Partner of aviation consultancy AstraWorx and Head of European Policy at Boom Supersonic, he contributed to innovations that are redefining the air travel experience and connectivity. His tenure at the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in Geneva, Switzerland, as Adjunct Director for external relations and sustainability, saw him championing sustainable aviation and travel policies on a global scale. Andreas has represented the industry at the UN ICAO Environment Committee (CAEP), led delegations to successive UN Climate Change Conferences (UNFCCC), and spearheaded advocacy campaigns that influenced aviation and aerospace policy frameworks at both European and international levels. He holds graduate and postgraduate degrees in Civil Law (LLB), International Air and Space Law (LLM), and International Economic Development (MA).
