Billy Thalheimer is the Co-founder and CEO of REGENT, steering the company through rapid growth since its founding in late 2020. Under his leadership, REGENT has grown to over 100 employees, built a commercial backlog exceeding $10 billion in Seaglider orders, secured a $15 million U.S. Marine Corps contract, and raised over $100 million from world-class investors, including Founders Fund, Mark Cuban, Peter Thiel, Japan Airlines, and Lockheed Martin.
Before launching REGENT, Billy honed his expertise in human-crewed electric aircraft development at Aurora Flight Sciences (a Boeing subsidiary), where he was a leader in aircraft design, program management, and business development for Boeing’s future air mobility portfolio. Billy holds both a B.S. and M.S. in Aerospace Engineering from MIT, where he was also a competitive sailor — giving him a unique fluency in maritime as well as aerospace dynamics. He is also a licensed aerobatic pilot.
Billy’s rare combination of aerospace design expertise, business leadership, and operational execution makes him uniquely qualified to lead REGENT at the intersection of aerospace and maritime innovation.
