Farah Mismar

Regional Manager, Sustainability, Environment and Aeropolitical Affairs (AME)

Farah is the Regional Manager for Sustainability in the Africa and Middle East Region at IATA, where she focuses on the decarbonization agenda of the aviation industry and advancing global sustainability. Her advocacy work involves collaborating with policy makers, international associations, and airlines across 67 

states in AME. Farah’s expertise lies in analyzing and developing policy positions to address a broad range of sustainability  concerns related to the industry’s overarching goal of achieving Net-Zero emissions by 2050. She is also extensively involved in several environmental initiatives including long-term emission reduction pathways, sustainable aviation fuels, and the implementation of the ICAO Global Market-Based Measure (CORSIA). Beyond her professional work, Farah has also been recognized for her contributions to Sustainable Development. She was selected to speak at the UN General Assembly’s Major Group for Children and Youth in 2015 and was later nominated as a United Nations Young Leader. Farah has received numerous academic awards such as the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) Tomorrow’s Leaders Scholarship, in which she earned her degrees in Legal Studies and International Affairs.
