Jahnavi Dangeti

Analog Astronaut

Jahnavi Dangeti, from Palakollu, Andhra Pradesh, is a pioneering space enthusiast and the first Indian to complete AEXA’s International Air and Space Program (IASP) conducted at one of the NASA’s centres. An Electronics and Communication Engineering graduate from Lovely Professional University, she is dedicated to advancing space exploration and aims to be among the first Indians to set foot on Mars. In addition to her intensive astronaut training, Jahnavi is a dedicated STEM advocate. She has delivered impactful talks and lectures at prestigious platforms, including ISRO outreach programs and leading institutions such as the NITs across India, aiming to inspire and educate students. As a TEDx speaker and mentor, she has been widely recognized for her inspiring journey. Jahnavi actively guides and supports young students, motivating them to explore careers in space science and exploration. Through her mentorship, she continues to break barriers and empower the next generation of scientists and space enthusiasts.

Representing India. IASP is organized by a Mexican- American company called AEXA, and it is an event at the level of Mexico and Latin America that took place in the NASA Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama, United States. She was selected for "International Air and Space Program (IASP)" representing India. She was the first individual from India to be selected for this program. She Underwent through the Astronaut training programme, which included zero gravity, multi-access training, and other activities. Where she worked on a lunar sample collector which was recently launched into space. She was the mission director of Team Kennedy, a group of 16 people from several countries who successfully launched a mini rocket into the atmosphere and landed safely.

Jahnavi Dangeti participated in an international scientific project, which is based on performing space Analog mission simulation and presenting results during the thematic workshops. She is the YOUNGEST FOREIGN GIRL to take part in this AATC MISSIONS. She participated in the research project entitled, Cognitive, Physical and Sleep Performances During Lunar Analog Mission in Isolation and Confinement in The Habitat. During this scientific mission, Jahnavi Dangeti performed experiments related to robotics, man-machine interactions, aquaponics, microgravity machine use, etc. Additionally, she learned procedures required for health, safety, and efficiency during work in isolation.

Geology field training expedition by Space Iceland in Húsavík. She the first Indian to be chosen for this program, which includes six crew members from around the world. The program took her into the highlands of Iceland for training based on the training provided to the Apollo astronauts 6 during the1960s. The organization has welcomed 6 of the original Apollo astronauts who flew NASA's Moon missions to return to these same areas and share their experience. Iceland is a good place to do space-related research because it boasts a diverse set of habitats, some of which resemble off-world locales. Iceland is an increasingly popular testing zone for spacesuits, habitats, and offworld vehicles.

The PoSSUM Scientist-Astronaut Candidate Program by Project PoSSUMand the International Institute for Astronautical Sciences at Florida Tech in Melbourne, FL. prepares its candidates for suborbital human space flight to build unprecedented models of this region of our atmosphere through tomographic imaging and in-situ sampling of noctilucent clouds. The program also evaluates the candidate’s suitability to conduct future research activities with the International Institute for Astronautical Sciences (IIAS), including spacesuit evaluation work, bioastronautics research, and aeronomy research. She got trained in HIGH altitude mission training in a hyperbaric altitude facility. Spacesuit training (don, doff, regulating pressure, basic mobility) Full Scientist Astronaut Mission simulation training in spacesuits in PoSSUMSim. Jahnavi has completed the fundamentals of astronautics training. Finally, she got graduated from academy as a scientist astronaut candidate.
