Katherine Bell brings a dynamic blend of cabin operations acumen, aircraft engineering and design insight, with multicultural team leadership experience. With over 20 years of aviation experience, Katherine currently works in cabin and cargo engineering operations at Airbus. Her career spans from serving as an Officer Cadet in the UK’s Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve to holding key roles at Emirates Airline as Cabin Crew Onboard Manager, and Safety and Emergency Procedures Trainer. In her present role at Airbus, Katherine contributes to the design, development, and certification of advanced human-machine interfaces, providing human-centred solutions that enhance safety, usability, and operational efficiency. Through experience, knowledge and skill, Katherine’s results bridge design, engineering, and real-world operations, ensuring products perform as required, operate as desired, and uphold regulatory compliance. 

Complementing her professional experience, Katherine holds an MBA in Aviation Management from Coventry University (UK) and is completing her PhD in Aviation Safety at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (USA). Recognized as an Airbus Airbassador, she actively promotes innovation, safety, and human-centred design in aviation, while advocating for the fringe benefits of diversity, professionalism laced with the human factor, and the value of raising others as we soar.
