Majed Obaid Almujaini

Majed Obaid Almujaini is an aviation sustainability expert with extensive experience in environmental affairs, regulatory compliance, and ESG strategy. He currently serves as Manager of Aviation Environment Affairs at flydubai, where he leads the airline’s sustainability initiatives, ensuring adherence to global environmental regulations such as CORSIA, EUETS, and Refuel EU. His role includes overseeing emissions reduction strategies, managing ESG compliance, and fostering collaborations with international aviation bodies to promote sustainable practices. Previously, Majed was a Specialist in Aviation Environment at the UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority, where he played a key role in developing the Carbon Offsetting Reduction Scheme in International Aviation Ministerial Decree in the UAE (No. 27/2023) and led the implementation of the UAE’s Carbon Offsetting Reduction Scheme for International Aviation, regulating over 40 million tons of annual emissions, and representing the UAE in ICAO Technical Advisory Body. Majed’s early career focused on health, safety, and environmental management, holding senior roles at Shaikh Zayed Grand Mosque and Abu Dhabi Transmission and Dispatch Company. He was instrumental in creating HSE systems, risk management protocols, and emergency response frameworks. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Abu Dhabi University and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from UAE University. Additionally, he earned a postgraduate diploma in UAE Diplomacy and International Relations from Anwar Gergash Diplomatic Academy. Majed is actively involved in various international aviation sustainability committees, including the ICAO General Assembly and UAE Climate Change Negotiators Committee.
